Cabinets provide a unique style to your home and are an essential component to any room or kitchen. At Home and Office Cabinetry in Delaware, we install custom kitchen cabinets and have over 100 cabinet door styles to choose from.  Choosing the right cabinet door styles can be a complicated task with so many options available. That is why we have created a small guide to help you understand what’s important when selecting new cabinets.

Home Design Style

Every home is unique, and you should think about the overall look and feel of your kitchen. You will want cabinets that are able to match or complement the color scheme of your room. For example, wooden cabinets with a natural dark brown color may not fit right in a kitchen with a minimalist design that has mostly bright colors.

Budget

Sometimes, choosing the right cabinet door styles will first depend on pricing. Cabinet doors have a wide range of prices depending on the materials and designs being chosen. It is important to communicate your budget with Home and Office Cabinetry so we can find a style that you can afford.

What Types of Materials are Available?

Home and Office Cabinetry is proud to be partnered with Medallion Cabinetry, who manufactures all our kitchen cabinets for your specific needs. Medallion offers seven types of wood material including Maple, Rustic Maple, Oak, Quartersawn Oak, Cherry, Hickory, Knotty Alder, and MDF (plywood)

For a more natural look, hardwood materials like Maple, Oak, Cherry, Hickory and Knotty Alder are great options. If you want a cabinet that will be painted a certain color, MDF should be used.

What are Some Popular Door Frame Styles?

Below are some popular door frame styles we love.

Raised Panels and Recessed Panels

Raised panel cabinets are doors that feature a higher center panel within the frame. The center panel can be specially designed with lines and grooves for a unique look. Recessed panel cabinets are the opposite, with the center frame sitting below the outer frame.

Shaker Cabinets

Some of the most recognizable door frames are shaker cabinets. They feature a simple rectangular panel within a frame. While basic in design, these cabinets are versatile and work well in most kitchens.

Glass Panels

Glass panels are a great option for both traditional and modern kitchens. They let you show off some of some of your wine glasses and fine china. It will also give your kitchen more depth and a high-end look. Glass cabinet door styles can come with one or multiple panes of glass.

Slab Doors

For kitchens looking for a minimalist design, slab doors are a perfect option. They are simply a flat piece of finished wood with no grooves or ornate design.
